I just got this gerber Covert F.A.S.T. folding knife and at first was pleased how it looked. It felt solid with no wiggle in the blade. The F.A.S.T. (I don't remember the acronym but it means assisted opening) design works very well. It is very safe with the lock/un-lock slide switch. The finish is nice but the blade has a small amount of wiggle. My least desired thing about this knife is that it is made in China; come on Gerber. <br/><br/>Overall, a very good knife for day to day use. <br/><br/>If you want a knife for personal defense I would recommend either the "Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn Covert or Combat" that come in around $100.00. I have always been a fan of Gerber knives and this Covert is no exception. The F.A.S.T. (I don’t remember the acronym but it means assisted opening) design works very well. It is very safe with the lock/un-lock slide switch. The finish is nice but the blade has a small amount of wiggle. My least desired thing about this knife is that it is made in China; come on Gerber.

Overall, a very good knife for day to day use.

If you want a knife for personal defense I would recommend either the “Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn Covert or Combat” that come in around $100.00. These are both very solid knives that you could trust your life to and they are still made in the USA.
