The classic boardgame has now moved to the computer. With all the mystery and suspense you knew and loved. The 3D graphics used with the game are excellent. The game can be played either viewing as the classic boardgame (overview), or as a three dimensional mansion.

When a player makes a suggestion (e.g. Professor Plum with the knife in the library) the computer plays a simulated cut-scene of what that particular scenario might look like. With an added surround sound card and subwoofer these scenes are very suspenseful!

The game can also be played solo, pitting you against two to five computer run players.

This is a great classic game and highly recommended.

Family Game Night lives on!, October 4, 2000
    By A Customer
This review is from: Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)

As a fan of the Family Game Night board game, I was excited to see the CD-Rom version of CLUE! We installed it over our network at home and the game is great to play that way! You can play it solo, too – with the computer taking on two other `players’ with a choice of three skill levels. All the elements are in place here for an entertaining evening with the family, friends (over the Net even!), or by yourself!

A word of warning: The suspected crime is reenacted as players guess whodunit each round. While the graphics are beautifully done, they are accompanied by spooky music, thunder and lightning which make the reenactments a bit startling and probably scary for little ones. There is no blood or gore involved by any means, just the `suspect’ in the `room’ using the `weapon’ from the perspective/point of view of the player(you, not your game piece) as the victim. Perhaps I’m overacting in light of the abundance of video game violence out there for children already! The violence of this game is nothing compared to much of what I’ve seen in Nintendo/Sega/Play Station video games! All the same, I’ll hold back one star in the name of Violence-Free entertainment.

A patch, which I recommend downloading, is available for the CD-Rom.

The game has never let me complete it. It freezes up and won’t let me move accross the board. I have windows XP. Maybe the game isn’t compatable.
